Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

1. Introduction

Vwire IoT ("VWire," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our IoT platform, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), including the VWire IoT Android application available on Google Play.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

3. Location Data

Purpose

Our mobile application collects your device's GPS location solely for IoT asset tracking. The feature allows you to send your mobile device's position to a connected IoT device so it can perform actions based on your location — for example, automatically turning on lights when you arrive at a location, triggering automations, or using your phone as a portable GPS tracker for an asset. We do not use your location for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than the IoT functionality you configure.

When is location collected

Location data is collected only while a Location Tracking session is actively running. You explicitly start and stop each session through the app interface. The app uses an Android foreground service with a persistent notification visible at all times during tracking, so you always know when location is being collected. We do not collect location data when tracking is stopped, and we never collect location silently or without your knowledge.

What is collected

GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude), altitude, speed, heading, and accuracy metrics from your device's location sensors.

How it is used

Location data is transmitted to our servers over HTTPS and forwarded to the IoT device associated with the Location widget you configured in your project. It is also displayed on your dashboard for asset monitoring and stored according to your plan's data retention policy.

How to opt out

You may stop location tracking at any time by pressing the stop button in the Location Tracking screen, tapping "Stop" on the tracking notification, or by revoking location permissions in your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > VWire IoT > Permissions > Location). Disabling location permissions will prevent the app from collecting any location data.

4. Advertising

Our mobile app displays advertisements to users on the free plan using Google AdMob. AdMob is provided by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

What AdMob collects

The Google AdMob SDK may collect the following data from your device:

Ad personalization and consent

We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent SDK to request your consent before serving personalized ads, in compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations. If you decline personalized ads, you will still see non-personalized advertisements. You can change your ad privacy preferences at any time in the app under Settings > Ad Privacy.

Paid users

Users subscribed to a paid plan (Pro, Pro+, or Enterprise) do not see advertisements and the AdMob SDK does not collect data for these users.

5. In-App Purchases and Billing

Our app offers subscription plans through Google Play Billing. When you make an in-app purchase, the following data is processed:

Purchase tokens are sent to our server and verified with Google Play's API to activate your subscription. We do not have access to your payment method details (credit card, bank account, etc.) — all payment processing is handled securely by Google Play. Google Play Billing is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Push Notifications

Our app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), provided by Google LLC, to deliver push notifications for device alerts, alarms, and service updates.

You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's system settings (Settings > Apps > VWire IoT > Notifications) or within the app under Settings > Notifications. FCM is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Camera and QR Code Scanning

Our app uses your device camera for QR code and barcode scanning to provision and claim IoT devices. Camera access is requested only when you initiate a scan. Images are processed locally on your device using Google ML Kit and are not stored, transmitted, or shared. You can revoke camera permissions at any time in your device settings.

8. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

9. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest, secure token-based authentication, and access controls. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using the platform's application storage. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Device and location data is retained according to your subscription plan's data retention period. Push notification tokens are removed from our servers when you log out. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

11. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

We do not share your data with Facebook, social media platforms, or third-party analytics providers. All internal analytics data (ad telemetry, usage metrics) is processed on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected] or through our contact page.

13. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

14. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
